This panoramic route starts at Comologno, a small village deep in the Onsernone Valley. You cross the Isorno River, which flows beneath the village, and begin the steep climb through the impressive Onsernone forest reserve that extends up to Pizzo Ruscada. The reserve has a considerable number of white firs. After Alpe Lumbardòn, the trail makes a wide curve towards Capellone, from where it ascends to Pizzo Ruscada. The view of the surrounding mountains is incredible. If you want to avoid the summit, you can take the direct path to Corte Nuovo, where the hut, renovated in 2016, offers a fantastic view of Lake Maggiore. After Pescia Lunga, there are ups and downs along the ridge. Below Pianasc to Pizzin and finally down to the Madonna della Segna church. Shortly beyond is Monte Comino. From here you can take the cable car down to Verdasio station.
