Explanation
A circular trip around the lower reaches of the Vallemaggia, starting and ending in Ronchini. After a short stretch on a dirt track through the woods, you reach the main road which you cross at the Osteria al Ponte restaurant, heading for Maggia. You then pass the church of San Maurizio and continue along the cycle path to Lodano. There is an information point in Lodano with details on the Valle di Lodano forest reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A side road then takes you along a beautiful stretch to Moghegno, a village with considerable cultural heritage, including the Grà, a place where chestnuts are dried in autumn. Continuing straight ahead, you reach Aurigeno. Here you cross the suspension bridge and pass a tennis court as you head back to Ronchini. There are many opportunities to go swimming and stop off en route.
