After a short stretch on a dirt track through the woods, you reach the main road which you cross at the Osteria al Ponte restaurant, heading for Maggia. You then pass the church of San Maurizio and continue along the cycle path to Lodano. There is an information point in Lodano with details on the Valle di Lodano forest reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A side road then takes you along a beautiful stretch to Moghegno, a village with considerable cultural heritage, including the Grà, a place where chestnuts are dried in autumn. Go straight ahead to reach Aurigeno. From there, return via the road below, cross the bridge in Moghegno and turn right to get back to the starting point. There are many opportunities to go swimming and stop off en route.
