The tour starts in Cevio in Vallemaggia. It passes the school building and then follows national bike route no. 31 to Bignasco. After crossing the arched bridge, you meet the main road at the church and turn right towards Val Bavona. At times steep, sometimes flat or even slightly downhill, the route takes in all twelve settlements in the valley. Val Bavona still retains a traditional way of life. Indeed, most places (apart from San Carlo) are still off-grid here. There are plenty of attractions, including the Splüi (large overhanging rocks that serve as shelters), hanging meadows (boulders covered with soil to grow grass), the impressive Foroglio waterfall and much more. You can also stop off at one of the "grotto" restaurants. On reaching the last village, San Carlo, you return to Cevio following the same route.
