Discovering the UNESCO World Heritage beech forests

Lodano

The hike, which takes place along a scenic mountain trail, will lead you to the beech forests of the Valle di Lodano, inscribed in 2021 on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the transnational site "Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe".
But it's not just about beech forests! You will reach well-preserved mountain settlements featuring traditional stone constructions and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the majestic Maggia river landscape and the most remote corners of Valle di Lodano.
Along the trail, you will encounter remnants of past forestry activities, such as logging and charcoal production, telling the story of these forests—now protected and left to natural evolution as a forest reserve.
Luca, our trusted guide, will accompany you with expertise and safety, enriching the experience with interesting facts and engaging stories.
An ideal activity for corporate teams, associations, schools, or groups of friends looking for an adventure immersed in nature.
