Musical Camp 2025

The Fondazione Accademia Vivaldi della Svizzera Italiana, a music school recognized by the Canton of Ticino and a member of FeSMuT (Federation of Music Schools of Ticino), founded in 1981, has been organizing the Summer Ensemble Music Camp in Sonogno, Alta Valle Verzasca, during the third week of August every year since 2000.
The Musical Camp is an important event for all young musicians from the Sopraceneri region.
The goal of the Summer Musical Camp is to provide young music students of all instruments with a privileged space where they can deepen their musical and instrumental skills. With the necessary calm, they will be able to enjoy these days spent in the stunning setting of Alta Valle Verzasca, experiencing the joy of making music together with peers, getting to know each other better, and fostering valuable musical and personal interactions.

Chamber music practice is an essential element for a complete and meaningful musical development.
The 2025 Summer Ensemble Music Camp will take place in Sonogno (Alta Valle Verzasca) from Monday, August 18 to Saturday, August 23, 2025.

The theme of the 2025 Music Camp will be “Around the World in Music… People and Distant Lands.”
This year’s theme will take us on a fascinating journey through music inspired by distant lands. With a focus on Europe, we will explore works by composers who have translated the allure of exotic cultures and unknown countries into music, transforming inspirations and influences into timeless masterpieces.
From Schumann to Debussy, from Rimsky-Korsakov to De Falla, we will analyze how the desire to explore the world has been reflected in their works, also expanding our view to composers from other continents.
Through ensemble practice and listening, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the relationship between music, travel, and sonic imagination.
The musical camp will conclude as usual with a final musical event open to the public on Saturday, August 23, at 10:30 AM at the Casa Sant’Angelo hall in Sonogno.
