Necessity sharpens ingenuity: an instructive route on the two water supply channels: the Canà aqueduct and the sparkling alpine lake of Mognola.
The route starts from Fusio, the last village of the Lavizzara. The white-red trail leads to Vacarisc, through the larch forest and meadows up to Corte dell'Ovi and Corte Mognola, where the Cascina della memoria is located, a small shelter that tells the story of the alpine dairy farm through photos, historical objects and panels.
The ascent to Lake Mognola, sparkling and surrounded by peaks, is steep. Larches and some green clearings dot the sparse surrounding landscape. For a short stretch, the trail then climbs to Corte della Sassina, with a view of the artificial Lake Sambuco.
Along the water supply channel (thematic trail "Canà aqueduct") one descends to Corte del Sasso, active during the summer period. Remarkable is the channel carved in stone that transports water from the spring to the alpine dairy farm.
The trail that returns to Vacarisc is steep in parts but well passable. Once there, fresh cheese can be purchased. The same way returns to the bus stop in Fusio.
