Locarno Monti-Cardada-Brione sopra Minusio

The Monti della Trinità can be reached by bus or cable car (Locarno-Orselina). The zigzagging ascent through the deciduous forest to San Bernardo, Cortaccio, and finally Cardada, Locarno's symbol mountain, is steep. From Cardada, you can see both the highest point (Dufourspitze, 4634 m) and the lowest point of Switzerland (Lago Maggiore, 193 m). The "Passerelle" panoramic platform, located a few minutes on foot from the upper station, offers a particularly interesting view. In Cardada, you can stop and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere on one of the sunny terraces. A long traverse leads down to Giorledo and continues to the village of Monte Cordonico. The last 500 meters of ascent zigzag down again through the forest to Brione sopra Minusio, where a bus passes.
