You can park your car in the parking lots in the center of Ronco s/Ascona near the church, the post office, or the Infopoint. Parking spaces are limited, and we recommend using public transport and getting off at the “Ronco Sopra Ascona Posta” stop. From there, you need to go up and continue along the road until you reach the municipal cemetery. The cemetery, which is open to visitors, hosts several notable figures such as Eric Maria Remarque, Paulette Goddard, Ernst Fischer, Kurt Hoffmann, Ursula La Ruelle, Rolf Lenne, Gerhard Maasz, and Richard Seewald. Right after the cemetery begins the path that, via a mule track, ascends to Porano. Here also begins the “path of crosses”; along the way, you will find several wooden crosses and some chapels. After about 50 minutes of walking, you will reach the hamlet of “Porano.” Here there are several mountain homes and a beautiful meadow with a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. Continuing through the forest, the path leads to the road that goes to the hills of Ronco. Walk for a few meters on the asphalt and then descend following the “Non” sign. From here, a rather steep path will first take you to the hamlet of Non and then back to the historic center of Ronco s/Ascona, where you started.
