300 curves lead to Spruga, the last village of the Onsernone Valley and the starting point of this mountain trail route. Accessible by both bus and car, Spruga is a culturally vibrant place. It is immediately noticeable that the Onsernone Valley is a steep valley. The ascent towards Al Piansécc is steep and stepped. Through a larch forest you then reach the Alpe Pescéd and continue along the Munzzelümm mountain massif bordering the alpine pond of Salèi, where you can stop for a refreshment on warm summer days. Afterwards, the trail descends to Alpe Salei and its namesake hut, open from May to October, also accessible by cable car from Vergeletto (operating from May to October). There is also the possibility to climb Pizzo Zucchero. The descent towards Comologno continues to the charming and sunny hamlet of Ligünc before the trail leads back down. In Comologno you can visit the church of San Giovanni Battista and the chapels of its Way of the Cross, before taking the bus again.
Attention: In the area of the Alpe Salei hut and the alpine pond of Salei there are flocks guarded by protection dogs.
