Stage 2: Alpe Spluga-Cortone-Arnau-Giumaglio

The way back from the Alpe Spluga self-catering refuge (open between May and October) to Giumaglio begins with a short, gentle descent to Cortone, after which the descent on the red-and-white waymarked path to the stream in Valle is steep: this new path incorporates 300 stone steps.

Passing through the Giumaglio valley, the path is full of delights, including steps, larch and beech forests and little streams tumbling down to the valley floor. A tour that has you encountering the remains of bygone days, as well as nature in all its glory.
