Beautiful, sunny panoramic route in the hills above Locarno. Thanks to the moderate altitude and southern exposure, the route is accessible year-round – with stunning views of Lake Maggiore.

The start is at the ferry landing in Locarno (196 m), just a few steps from the train station and the Piazza Grande. The ascent begins immediately steeply towards Madonna del Sasso and continues technically demanding up to the Monti della Trinità. After about 3.5 km, the climb remains consistent but becomes smoother and easier to run up to the hamlet of Tendrasca (683 m). After the hamlet, the trail gets steeper again almost up to Monte Baffi (876 m), requiring muscle power. From there follows a fast, technical descent to Orselina before the loop returns to Locarno.
