Circular trail that challenges legs and lungs. A demanding climb leads to Pizzo Salmone, where a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore opens up. This is followed by a technical descent, interspersed with brief climbs and a final section characterized by scenic ups and downs, for a varied and engaging route.
From Avegno, take the path that crosses the Torbeccio area, renowned for climbing, and ascends towards La Fórcola da Dünz. Continue towards the picturesque Monti di Campiòi, from where you can admire the valley floor of Vallemaggia on one side and, in the distance, the Centovalli on the other. Here begins the most challenging part of the climb, culminating at Pizzo Salmone, at an altitude of 1’560 m: an ideal panoramic point for a well-deserved break.
The descent leads to Monti Streccia, from where you climb again to Colma. This large terrace, with a small chapel, offers a splendid view of the Centovalli and Lake Maggiore. Then, descend towards the small hamlet Prati della Cappella.
From here, the path becomes more flowing, although it presents some short uphill sections that will test your endurance. The tour ends in Avegno, the starting and finishing point of this exciting trail
