During these six weeks, a variety of activities for the whole family take place on the Piazza Grande. On the ice rink, young and old can pirouette and have fun on the ice under the starry sky of Locarno. Entry to the ice rink is free for everyone, and skates can be hired on site if required. For the brave, there is an ice slide over 5 metres high and 30 metres long, from which you can slide down on a rubber tyre. The biggest highlight, however, is the audiovisual show of the enchanting fairytale "The Star Fishers" (i pescatori di stelle). A spectacle that enchants its audience and transports them into the magical world of the stars.
The scent of mulled wine, Christmas tea and food is in the air. Winterland is the ideal place to meet up with friends for an aperitif or dinner in the glittering ambience of stars and lights. The bars serve warming hot drinks or creative cocktails that you should definitely try. A wide range of culinary delights, from burgers to Thai food and raclette, leaves nothing to be desired. There are also numerous free concerts by international, national and local artists, as well as other events that bring warmth and joy to the cold season.
