Throughout these seven weeks, Winterland offers a variety of activities for all the family. On the ice rink, young and old can pirouette and have fun on the ice under the starry sky of Locarno. Entry to the ice rink is free, and skates can be hired on site if required. For the little ones, there are plenty of entertaining attractions in addition to numerous shows – including the Magic Tree, the little train and the double-decker carousel, which brings the charm of Christmas traditions back to life.
The biggest highlight, however, is the audiovisual show of the enchanting fairytale ‘In the heart of time’ (Nel cuore del tempo). A spectacle that enchants its audience and transports them into the magical world of the stars.
The scent of mulled wine, Christmas tea and food is in the air. Winterland is the ideal place to meet up with friends for an aperitif or dinner in the glittering ambience of stars and lights. The bars serve warming hot drinks or creative cocktails that you should definitely try. The culinary offering is wide and varied: from the Fondue Chalet and the Chinoise Igloo to the Winterland Express – a 1920s-style railway carriage transformed into a French bistro serving Café de Paris specialities – as well as numerous street food stalls. There are also plenty of free concerts featuring international, national and local artists, as well as other events that bring warmth and joy to the cold season. Speaking of warmth, Winterland attaches great importance to sustainability in all its activities.
