Accessibility Ticino

Arrival by train

To avoid road traffic, we recommend travelling by public transport. There are direct connections from Basel, Lucerne and Zurich to Locarno several times a day. The train route between Domodossola and Locarno, which is operated by the Vigezzina-Centovalli railway, is one of the 10 most beautiful train routes in Europe (according to Lonely Planet).

Vallemaggia

The temporary bridge in Visletto is open to traffic without restrictions. The road is single-lane and regulated by traffic lights. Therefore, the traffic situation throughout the entire Vallemaggia (with the exception of the Valle Bavona) has been restored on all cantonal roads.

The Bavona Valley will remain inaccessible until further notice.

Here you will find an up-to-date list of open accommodation, huts and restaurants in the upper Maggia Valley (after Riveo).

A registration form is available online for interested volunteers.

The municipalities of Cevio and Lavizzara have jointly set up a donation account. You can find more information here.
