Carnival is a very deep tradition in Ticino, linked to the region, gastronomy, music and entertainment.
In the valleys and on Lake Maggiore, every carnival has its own special characteristics. Like the masks, the traditional risotto tasting on the lake promenade in Ascona or the countless colours that fill the streets of the old town of Locarno during the Stranociada.
