Walk of fame

The Locarno Walk of Fame is the walk of the stars in the heart of Locarno, just a stone’s throw from the Piazza Grande, in the lovely setting of the Giardini Rusca.

Walk of fame

The Locarno Walk of Fame in the Giardini Rusca, collects the bronze handprints of the great musicians who have visited Locarno for Moon&Stars, the music festival that brings every year music lovers to the Piazza Grande and the nearby Largo Zorzi. International music stars are always present at the event, to the delight of the many fans who flock to Locarno to enjoy 10 unforgettable days. Some of the artists leave an indelible mark of their visit: the imprint of their hands immortalised in bronze. Stroll among the totems and discover all the top artists who have left their mark over the years.

The totems placed along the avenue of Giardini Rusca consist of 3 revolving cubes of 50x50x50 cm each with which you can interact to discover all the handprints. With the map at the beginning of the walk, you will certainly not miss the handprint of your favourite star.

The story of the Locarno Walk of Fame began in 2008 on Largo Zorzi with a small group of four handprints placed on the ground in the park next to the street, which in July is transformed into the Food&Music Street of Moon&Stars. But the number of artists who wanted to leave their mark on Locarno grew so much that a new project had to be devised.

But the enthusiasm of the international music stars does not stop there. The Piazza Grande artists are so impressed by the region's climate and beauty that they use their free time during their stay to explore it and sightsee, as Amy MacdonaldBastian Baker and Emeli Sandé did recently. Many artists fall so in love with the region that they return for longer stays or even every year. Discover some of their content in the Ascona-Locarno region!
